Moving to Estonia from the US

If you’re an American moving to Estonia for less than a year, then you can stay in Estonia on a long term D visa. US citizens planning to stay in Estonia longer than a year should apply for a residence permit. 

Moving to Estonia from the UK

Moving to Estonia from EU Countries

As a citizen of an EU country, you can enter Estonia without a Visa and stay up to three months. After 3 months, you’ll need to register Estonia as your place of residence and apply for an Estonian ID card. 

This will give you a temporary right of residence. After 5 consecutive years of living in Estonia, you can apply for a permanent right of residence in Estonia.
