  • Karlova: Located near the city center, Karlova is filled with historic wooden houses, gardens, and cafes. With a bohemian atmosphere and unique street art, Karlova is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Tartu. 

 

  • Supilinn: Supilinn is another historic neighborhood in Tartu, located just north of the city center. Supilinn’s wooden houses, greenery, and proximity to Tartu’s Emajõgi River make it a relaxing neighborhood close to the city center.

 

  • Kesklinn (city center): Kesklinn sits on the Emajõgi River and is where you’ll find most shops, restaurants, and bars. However, housing may be harder to find and more expensive in the city center.

  • Ihaste: Situated on the left bank of Emajõgi River, just south of Annelinn, Ihaste is a mix of the city and countryside. While Ihaste has a feeling of being in the countryside, many private houses are being built in a part known as New Ihaste. 

Annelinn: The most populous neighborhood in Tartu, located on the left bank of the Emajõgi River. Annelinn is developing with lots of buildings being renovated. There are a lot of shops, shopping centers and gyms.
